I think many things that are said about running are exaggerated and in no way dictate how you should feel and how you should be seeing things. But getting back into running has been great, and you have to take rest days etc – but it’s during these rests that one of the things people say about running careers (and I always laugh at this) has come through to reality: that running is a drug. There’s an itch that I ought to be running. Wait. What are you saying? I’m not addicted. No way… Get off my back!
A lot of the advice that I have gotten on starting a running career centers on ‘having goals’ and ‘making time’… Well I say: good news you’re reading this because that stuff is obvious BS used to fill fitness blogs. All you really need to know and consider about entry level running is what plan you’re going to copy from (I’m copying the Couch to 5K schedule cause I can count it in my head) and how much water your whiny body will need — and when you’re on the run: you have to make sure you’re not leaning forward, that you are keeping to the plan and you have thought through about how many girls are going to make you breakfast tomorrow. That done, you and I are on a road to glory.
Hey! Ed here from Australia – and I’m a convert to running. Simply put, this here is a blog for other guys to motivate you to do the same.
